Hey everyone, my name is Shelby and I am the designer, maker and owner of Kohsi! 😃 Kallie is my four legged sidekick (also known as dog boss).
How did Kohsi begin?
It started with a redundancy, a white board, a heap of sticky notes and a huge animal obsession!
The idea of Kohsi began when I got made redundant 5 years ago. The aim was to keep myself busy, doing something I loved while I searched for a new job. Thankfully, I did manage to get another job a couple of weeks after my redundancy, but this resulted in the idea of Kohsi remaining just an idea for another year.
4 years ago, I finally began turning the idea, into a reality. I just had this unexplained "feeling" about Kohsi, and I had to explore why. I dug out my old sticky notes, made some prototypes, set up an Etsy page, and finally Kohsi was born.
So how on Earth did I start creating pet accessories!?
I just can't get enough of those squishy little paws! To help tame my broodiness and not adopt every animal under the sun, I decided to create products for them instead! Win win. I also wanted to create something that was completely unique, accessories that you wouldn't find on the high street.
Why the name Kohsi?
Kohsi is pronounced cosy, and I was inspired by the little book of Hygge to achieve a warm and approachable brand name that symbolised a home environment. Also, who doesn’t love a good cosy snuggle with their four legged friend? as you can see, our Kohsi household sure do!
